Spring Art Show Opens for ASA Members of the Artists' Studio Association (ASA) will open their annual Spring Art Show on Saturday, May 28 with a reception for the public from 1:00-4:00 on that date. This event will be held in the ASA classroom/studio at 620 NE HWY 101, Lincoln City (in the same building as the Co-op Gallery). The show spotlights work by students and members of ASA along with work of the instructors. ASA member artists – beginner, intermediate and advanced – whose art was completed during the past year, will have their work juried in four categories – Watercolor, Acrylic, Mosaics and Other, a category that includes Drawing, Photography and Sculpture. Two judges from the Lincoln City area will jury the work the day before the show opens. The judge for the painting categories is Paul Bruncke – a college teacher who specialized in the preparation of art teachers and who also taught art to students from K through college. The mosaics jurist is Sharon Wiggins – a local self-taught artist who specializes in three-dimensional mosaic art, incorporating recycled materials such as glass, ceramic and various other mediums into her work. The show runs until June 12 during which time a raffle will be held for art donated by the ASA Instructors. The raffle proceeds will go toward the group's goal of making the classroom accessible for the physically challenged. It remains open until 3:00pm on June 12, when the show closes. Winners of the art work do not have to be present to win. Ample parking is available and entrance to the ASA classroom/studio is through the Co-op Gallery or from the rear parking lot.
